Two males have been arrested after a number of thefts in Morphett Vale overnight.
Just after midnight on Tuesday 11 August, police responded to reports of a trespasser in the backyard of a home on Burns Court, Morphett Vale where clothing was allegedly stolen from a washing line. Police searched the area however were unable to locate a suspect at that time.
About 3.15am and a short distance away, at Pembry Crescent, Morphett Vale police were contacted after an occupant disturbed an intruder inside their home. The suspect ran off before the police arrived.
It was later discovered that a phone and an e-bike had been stolen from the address. Police, including Police Dog Griffin, searched the area and located a man riding the stolen e-bike.
A 45-year-old Sheidow Park man was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of the e-bike and will appear at Christies Beach Magistrates Court on 27 August.
Further enquiries located a boy nearby, still in possession of the stolen phone which was subsequently returned to the owner.
Police will allege the boy was involved in both incidents.
The 16-year-old Morphett Vale boy was arrested and charged with serious criminal trespass, unlawful possession and theft. Police refused bail and he will appear in the Adelaide Youth Court later today.
