Police arrest two over robbery at Bankstown

Two men have been arrested after a man was stabbed during a robbery in Sydney's south west overnight.

About 1.20am (Sunday 21 February 2021), a 25-year-old man parked his Hyundai I30 on Dale Parade, Bankstown, when he was approached by a group of at least four men, armed with knives.

The men demanded the driver's wallet and money before dragging him from the car, where he was assaulted and stabbed in the leg.

A short time later, officers from Bankstown Police Area Command were driving by and saw the altercation.

The four men fled through Griffiths Park and following a foot pursuit, two men were arrested at a unit complex on Northam Avenue.

The men, aged 23 and 29, were taken to Bankstown Police Station.

The injured man was treated by paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
