Police arrest woman after further investigations into fatal assault - Wakeley

A woman has been arrested by detectives investigating the fatal assault of a man in Sydney's west last month.

About 9pm on Friday 14 February 2020, Ross Houllis, aged 28, attended a shopping centre on Bulls Road, Wakeley, to meet a potential buyer for items he'd advertised online.

Mr Houllis was approached by two men in the car park, who demanded cash before allegedly assaulting him and dragged him through the car park.

The men allegedly knocked Mr Houllis to the ground and seriously assaulted him before fleeing the area.

Witnesses contacted emergency services, who attended a short time later, with NSW Ambulance paramedics taking him to hospital in a critical condition.

Despite the efforts of medical staff, Mr Houllis died the following Monday (17 February 2020).

Detectives from Fairfield City Police Area Command are investigating the incident under Strike Force Antas.

Two men were charged over the alleged murder last month. They remain before the courts.

Following further inquiries, strike force detectives arrested a 27-year-old woman at a home at Bankstown about 9am today (Thursday 19 March 2020).

She has been taken to Bankstown Police Station, where she will be charged with murder.

Investigations under Strike Force Antas are continuing.
