Police arrest woman after pursuit at South Brighton, South Australia

A drink-driver has been arrested after a pursuit in the southern suburbs in the early hours of this morning.

Police will allege that about 1.10am today (Saturday 26 October) a patrol attempted to stop a Hyundai sedan on Stephenson Avenue at South Brighton.

The driver refused to stop, and continued driving for several minutes until they pulled over on Brighton Road.

The driver, a 35-year-old woman from Mitchell Park underwent a breath test, and returned a positive reading of 0.173.

She was charged with exceeding the prescribed concentration of alcohol, engage in a police pursuit and driving unlicenced (never held). She was issued a 12-month immediate loss of licence notice, her car was impounded for 28 days and she was bailed to appear in court at a later date.
