Police have arrested a woman following two unprovoked assaults in Melbourne's CBD this afternoon.
It is alleged the woman approached another woman on Queen Street and struck her in the upper body with an object about 3.40pm on 15 November.
The woman continued walking north along Queen Street and allegedly struck a second woman in the upper body with the same object.
The first victim, a 22-year-old woman from the Melbourne area, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The second victim, a 23-year-old woman also from the Melbourne area, was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers searched the area and arrested the 29-year-old Melton South woman near the intersection of Queen Street and Therry Street about 4.10pm.
Investigators believe the victims and the offender are not known to each other.
The woman is expected to be interviewed this evening and remanded in custody.
