Police have arrested a man following an incident during a routine intercept in Hallam today, Victoria Police say.
Police attempted to pull the car over but it kept going, they located it parked on Old Gunn Road with the driver still inside.
The driver became aggressive when approached by police, resisting arrest, before grabbing a stick from the back of the car.
He struck a Senior Constable to the head causing cuts and bruises.
OC spray was deployed and the man fled but was located nearby a short time later and arrested.
He is currently in custody and will be interviewed in relation to numerous matters including assault police.
