Police charge driver after fatal crash - Hoxton Park

The driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal single vehicle crash in Sydney's south west at the weekend has been charged.

Emergency services were called to Hoxton Park Road, Hoxton Park, about 3.35am on Sunday (25 September 2022), after reports a white Toyota Camry crashed into a pole.

The passenger – a 17-year-old boy – died at the scene.

The 17-year-old male driver was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Liverpool Hospital for treatment and mandatory testing.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist police from the Crash Investigation Unit.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash commenced.

Upon release from hospital today (Monday 26 September 2022), the teenager was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station.

He was charged with dangerous driving occasioning death – drive speed dangerous, and negligent driving occasioning death. His licence was also suspended.

The teenager was refused bail to appear before a children's court tomorrow (Tuesday 27 September 2022).
