A woman has been charged following an investigation into a fatal crash in Sydney's south-west last year.
About 6pm on Wednesday 8 October 2025, emergency services were called to Park Road, Auburn, after reports of a crash.
Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command attended and found a Toyota SUV had collided with a pedestrian.
The pedestrian – an 84-year-old woman – was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for serious injuries and transported to hospital in a critical condition.
The woman later died in hospital.
The driver of the SUV – a 19-year-old woman – was uninjured. She was taken to Auburn Hospital for mandatory testing.
Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
Following inquiries, yesterday (Tuesday 20 January 2026), police issued the 19-year-old woman with a Court Attendance Notice charged for the offence of negligent driving (occasioning death).
She is due to appear before Burwood Local Court on Thursday 5 March 2026.
