Police charge driver with high range drink-driving and multiple traffic offences - Greenacre

A Greenacre man will appear in court today after being charged with high range drink-driving and multiple traffic offences in Sydney's south-west.

About 9pm yesterday (Tuesday 26 March 2019), officers from Bankstown Traffic & Highway Patrol Command stopped the driver of a silver Toyota Kluger, a 36-year-old man, on Waterloo Road, Greenacre, for a random breath test.

Police directed the motor vehicle to stop, however, the driver failed to comply, and accelerated south turning east onto Norfolk Road.

Police stopped the driver a short time later on Roberts Road, where he was breath tested and returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station, where he returned an alleged breath analysis reading of 0.176.

The man was charged with drive motor vehicle during disqualification period – 2nd offence, approval holder not comply with conditions-interlock devices, drive with high range PCA – 2nd offence, drive recklessly/furiously or speed manner dangerous – 2nd offence, drive past stationary emergency vehicle speed, and fail to comply with request or signal to stop vehicle.

He was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Wednesday 27 March 2019).
