Police charge five after brawl - Potts Point

Police have charged five foreign nationals with affray after a brawl at Kings Cross overnight.

Shortly after 1.20am (Thursday 25 April 2019), a number of men were involved in a physical altercation on the corner of Darlinghurst and Bayswater roads.

A 32-year-old man was allegedly punched in the head and collapsed, unconscious. The man was then kicked while on the ground.

The brawl continued onto Darlinghurst Road where a 19-year-old man was punched and fell onto the road.

The parties separated a short time later and police from Kings Cross Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

Officers arrested five men, all foreign nationals from England and Scotland.

No one suffered significant injuries from the brawl.

The five men were all later charged with affray.

A 29-year-old man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Thursday 25 April 2019).

Four other men aged 30, 27 and two 19-year-olds were granted bail to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on Tuesday 21 May 2019.

The men were also served with banning notices from the Kings Cross and Sydney CBD entertainment precincts.
