Police charge five after Taylors Lakes stabbing

Brimbank Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged five teenage boys following a serious stabbing in Taylors Lakes last night.

It's alleged an altercation occurred between two men and a group of youths in the food court of a Melton Highway shopping centre about 7.05pm.

A 19-year-old man Sunbury man was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remains in a critical condition.

The quick actions of local police and PSOs saw the arrest of the teenagers outside Watergardens Train Station a short time later.

A 14-year-old St Albans boy was charged with intentionally causing serious injury and affray.

The four other youths - a 17-year-old from Kings Park, 17-year-old from Deer Park, 17-year-old from Burnside Heights and 16-year-old from St Albans - were all charged with affray.

They will appear before a bail justice for a remand hearing.
