Police Charge Five Over Street Racing At Wagga Wagga

Five men have been charged following an investigation into alleged street racing in the Wagga Wagga area.

Officers attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol command commenced an investigation on Tuesday 28 October 2025, following reports of alleged organised street races and dangerous driving.

As part of inquiries, police spoke to six men, aged 19, 20, 22, 23 and two aged 24.

To date, five men – aged 19, 20, 23 and two 24-year-old men – have been issued Field Court Attendance Notices.

Those five men has now been charged with organise, promote etc race between vehicles; the 20-year-old man was charged with two counts of the same offence.

The younger man was also charged with responsible person/custodian not disclose driver's details.

All five are due to face Wagga Wagga Local Court on Wednesday 3 December 2025.

Police seized the registration plates of three vehicles, while the licences of the five men were suspended.

Police will allege in court the vehicles taking part in the street races travelled at speeds up to 180km/h in a sign-posted 100km/h zone and 120km/h in sign-posted 60km/h zones.

Investigations are ongoing.
