Police Charge Four After Break In At Queanbeyan

Four people will face court charged after an alleged break and enter in the state's south overnight.

Just before 11pm, yesterday (Friday 8 August 2025), police were called to a home on Longden Way, Queanbeyan West, following reports of a break and enter.

Officers attached to Monaro Police District – with the assistance from State Crime Command's Raptor Squad – attended and found two men in the backyard of the unoccupied property, who allegedly jumped the fence and re-entered the home from the front after sighting police.

A perimeter was established, and officers gained entry into the home.

Upon a search of the property, officers located and arrested two teenage boys – aged 16 and 17, and two men – aged 19 and 27 – inside one of the rooms.

A subsequent search was conducted with police allegedly seizing cannabis on the 17-year-old boy.

They were all taken to Queanbeyan Police Station where they were all charged with aggravated break and enter dwelling in company intend steal less than $60K and the 17-year-old with an additional offence of possess prohibited drug.

The two men were refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 9 August 2025), where they were granted conditional bail to appear before Queanbeyan Local Court on Monday 25 August 2025.

The 16-year-old boy was granted conditional bail to appear before Children's Court on Monday 25 August 2025.

The 17-year-old boy was granted conditional bail to appear before Children's Court on Friday 12 September 2025.
