Police charge four over 'Dial-a-Dealer' cocaine supply syndicate - Penrith RES

Penrith RES investigators have charged four people following an investigation into an alleged 'Dial-a-Dealer' syndicate supplying cocaine across Sydney's north west.

In August 2019, Penrith Region Enforcement Squad (RES) established Strike Force Gundain to investigate and target the supply of cocaine in the North West Metropolitan Region and surrounding suburbs.

Following extensive inquiries, strike force investigators executed three search warrants at units in Granville, Ryde and Carlingford from 6am yesterday (Thursday 12 March 2020).

During the searches, officers seized more than $75,000 cash, mobile phones, laptops, documentation, a ballistics vest, steroids and equipment consistent with the supply of prohibited drugs.

Officers also seized more than 1kg of cocaine, more than 2kg of a substance believed to be methylamphetamine and 117g of heroin.

All items will undergo forensic examination.

A 28-year-old man was arrested at Granville and charged with supply prohibited drug (x2), supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity x5), possess prohibited drug (x2) and deal with property proceeds of crime

He appeared at Parramatta Local Court yesterday, where he was formally refused bail to reappear at the same court on Thursday 26 March 2020.

Two men ­– aged 27 and 32 – were arrested at Ryde and taken to Ryde Police Station.

The younger man was charged with 12 offences including;

  • supply prohibited drug (x3)
  • supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis
  • participate criminal group contribute criminal activity
  • deal with property proceeds of crime
  • supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity x2)
  • possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, and
  • possess prohibited drug (x3)

Police will allege in court that the man was operating a 'Dial-a-Dealer' syndicate and supplying prohibited drugs across Sydney's north west.

He was refused bail and will appear at Burwood Local Court today (Friday 13 March 2020).

The older man was charged with supply prohibited drug. He was granted strict conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Monday 20 April 2020.

A 26-year-old man was arrested at Carlingford and charged with 11 offences including;

  • participate criminal group contribute criminal activity
  • supply prohibited drug (x7)
  • supply prohibited drug (indictable quantity)
  • supply prohibited drug on an ongoing basis
  • deal with property proceeds of crime

He appeared at Parramatta Local Court yesterday, where he was formally refused bail to reappear at the same court on Thursday 7 May 2020.

Investigations under Strike Force Gundain are continuing.
