Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man with murder after the body of a man was located at a residence in Alfredton yesterday.
Police were called to the residence on Wensleydale Drive following reports of a disturbance and located a deceased 70-year-old man just before 9am on Monday, 19 May.
A 32-year-old man from Gordon was arrested at the scene. The man remained in custody overnight and was charged this morning with one count of murder.
He will appear before the Ballarat Magistrates' Court this afternoon.
At this stage police do not believe the parties were known to each other.
