A man has been charged following an investigation into an alleged armed robbery in Sydney's south west last year.
About 5.25pm on Sunday 28 September 2025, a 30-year-old man attended a lane way off Alan Street, Fairfield, after arranging to purchase a mobile phone that had been advertised on a social media platform.
Police have been informed that as the man was counting the cash before the seller – an unknown man – stole the cash and ran from the location.
The 30-year-old then pursued the unknown man before being threatened with a box cutter and leaving the scene.
Officers from Fairfield Police Area Command attended the scene and conducted an extensive canvas of the area where the male was last seen; however, he was unable to be located.
There were no reports of any injuries.
Following inquiries by Fairfield detectives, on Tuesday 31 March 2026, police executed a search warrant at a house in Bell Crescent, Fairfield, and seized items which police will allege in Court to be linked to the offence.
On Monday 20 April 2026, a 22-year-old man was arrested at Cabramatta Police Station. The man was charged with robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon.
He was refused bail by Police and appeared in Fairfield Local Court today (Monday 20 April 2026), where hew was granted conditional bail, to appear at Parramatta Local Court in 25 June 2026.
