Police charge man after Burnley fatal crash

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a 43-year-old man following a fatal crash at Burnley on Saturday.

The Parkville man was today charged with culpable driving causing death and will appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court later today.

Police will allege a Mercedes Benz struck a pole on Barkley Avenue, near Stawell Street, about 2.45pm.

The male passenger, a 44-year-old Toorak man, died at the scene.
