Police charge man after carjackings in Frankston

Police have charged a 30-year-old man following two alleged carjackings earlier this week.

The man was charged with two counts of aggravated carjacking, two counts of armed robbery, kidnapping, two counts of theft of a motor vehicle, assault, aggravated intentional exposure of a police officer to risk by driving, reckless conduct endangering serious injury, possess a drug of dependence and unlicenced driving.

The charges follow two alleged carjackings involving two different victims in Frankston on 24 January at a:

• Beach Street shopping centre carpark about 4.30pm and in,

• Belvedere Road in Seaford about 7.30pm.

The Carrum Downs man appeared before court and has been further remanded to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 20 April.
