Police charge man after Caroline Springs death

Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man following a fatal stabbing in Caroline Springs yesterday.

The charges follow an incident where a 24-year-old Kurunjang man was injured during an altercation in the vicinity of a fast food outlet, on the Western Highway near Caroline Springs Boulevard, about 9.10pm on 21 December.

The man was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

A 24-year-old man from Caroline Springs was arrested nearby and has subsequently been charged with one count of murder.

He will appear via video link at Melbourne Magistrates' Court this afternoon.

It's believed the parties involved were known to each other.
