A man has been charged after allegedly confronting two police officers with a knife outside Granville Police Station.
At 7.53am (Monday 18 March 2019), two Inspectors, attached to Cumberland Police Area Command, were walking towards the front doors of the police station in Carlton Street, when they were allegedly approached by the man wielding a knife.
The officers drew their weapons and covered the man as they repeatedly instructed him to drop the weapon.
When the man refused to comply and kept walking towards the officers, one deployed his Taser and effected the arrest.
The man was taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment, before being returned to Granville Police Station.
This afternoon he was charged with use offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence.
He will be refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 19 March 2019).
