Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a Burwood man following a fatal crash in Cowes last week.
The incident occurred when a car lost control at the intersection of Phillip Island Road and Ventnor Road at 5.50am.on April 8.
The male passenger in the vehicle died at the scene.
The 34-year-old Burwood man has been charged with dangerous driving causing death, fail to render assistance and drive while licence suspended.
He is expected to appear at the Latrobe Magistrates' Court later this afternoon.
