A man has been charged with high-range drink-driving after allegedly crashing his vehicle into five parked cars in Sydney's inner-west this morning.
About 2.40am (Monday 12 July 2021), police were called following reports a Ford Ranger utility had crashed into the cars at the intersection between Livingstone Road and Hill Street, Marrickville.
Officers from Inner West Police Area Command attended and spoke to the 36-year-old driver and sole occupant of the vehicle.
There were no reports of injuries.
The man was subjected to a roadside breath test, which allegedly returned a positive result.
He was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station, where he allegedly returned a breath analysis reading of 0.207.
Police will also allege the man was out without a reasonable excuse under the Public Health Order.
The man was charged with drive with high-range prescribed concentration of alcohol, and not comply with noticed direction re s 7/8/9 - COVID-19.
He was refused bail and is due to appear at Newtown Local Court today (Monday 12 July 2021).
His licence was also suspended.
