Police charge man after Croydon serious collision

Detectives from Major Collision Investigation Unit have charged a man following a serious collision in Croydon on Thursday night, 10 June.

Police understand a Mercedes Benz collided with a Nissan X-trail at the intersection of Eastfield and Bayswater roads about 8.45pm

The 46-year-old female passenger of the Nissan X-Trail sustained life threatening injuries and remains in hospital.

The 66-year-old male driver of the X-Trail was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The 58-year-old male driver of the Mercedes Benz was un-injured and allegedly returned a preliminary breath test of 0.114.

The Croydon man has since been charged with negligently cause serious injury and dangerous driving causing serious injury.

He will appear at the Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 18 June.
