Police charge man after Dandenong hit-run

Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a 33-year-old man following an alleged hit-run collision in Dandenong yesterday afternoon.

The Hallam man was charged with fail to stop at the scene of a crash, fail to render assistance and prohibited person possess imitation pistol.

He was bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Thursday.

The charges relate to a collision on Clow Street where a SUV towing a covered box trailer allegedly struck a pedestrian and left the scene about 2.15pm.

The victim, a 24-year-old Dandenong man, remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.
