Police charge man after domestic violence-related incident at Liverpool

A man will face court charged following a domestic violence-related incident at Liverpool last night.

Officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command were called to a home on Nagle Street just after 5pm yesterday (Saturday 31 August 2019), following reports of a domestic violence-related incident.

Police were told a man and a woman who reside at the home had been arguing, before the man allegedly choked the woman.

While at the home, police noticed a distinct smell of gasoline emanating from the property.

A crime scene was established and officers from Fire and Rescue NSW were called to inspect the premises.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Liverpool Police Station, before being taken to Liverpool Hospital for assessment.

The man was charged with threaten destroy/damage own property to injure other, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm, common assault, and intentionally choke person without consent. He was also served an Apprehended Domestic Violence Order (ADVO).

The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Sunday 1 September 2019).

The 26-year-old woman did not require medical treatment.
