Police Charge Man After Fatal Stabbing In Fitzroy

Homicide Squad detectives have today charged a man as part of their investigation into the death of a man in Fitzroy last month.

Warrants were executed at two residential properties on Napier Street, Fitzroy on 2 January with assistance from the Special Operations Group.

A 23-year-old Fitzroy man was arrested and was later interviewed by police.

He has today been charged with one count of murder and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court on Monday 5 January 2026.

The charge follows an incident on 22 December where a man was located at a Napier Street, Fitzroy address with stab wounds.

Emergency services attended and the 43-year-old Fitzroy man was conveyed to hospital.

He died a short time later.

Police will allege the parties involved were known to each other.
