Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a fatal collision in Woolsthorpe last year.
Emergency services were called to Warrnambool-Caramut Road after a van and a sedan collided and caught fire about 5.15pm on Friday, 10 January 2025.
The driver of the van, a now 33-year-old Sunshine man, and the passenger of the sedan, an 18-year-old man from Caramut, were pulled from their cars by passers-by.
The driver of the sedan, a 42-year-old Caramut man, died at the scene.
Both the van driver and the sedan passenger sustained serious injuries and were airlifted to hospital for treatment.
Yesterday, detectives have charged the 33-year-old man with culpable driving and dangerous driving causing death.
He was bailed to appear before Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 23 January.
