A 44 year old Lilydale man has been charged with multiple firearms and drink driving offences following an incident at a Lilydale hotel overnight.
Police were notified about 7.50pm after a male driver allegedly fired a shotgun in the vicinity of patrons who were standing outside the hotel in Main Road at the time.
No one was injured and no property was damaged. The man then left the area in the vehicle.
Police responded quickly to the incident and the man was taken into custody a short time later in his vehicle. A load shotgun was located in the vehicle.
The man will appear in an after hours court in the Launceston Magistrates Court tonight.
