Detectives from the Sexual Crimes Squad have charged a man in relation to an alleged sexual assault in Footscray last Friday.
The 35-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested about 2pm yesterday.
He has been charged with sexual assault, aggravated burglary, false imprisonment, assault with a weapon, theft and offences against the bail act.
The man was remanded in custody overnight to face Melbourne Magistrates' Court this morning.
The charges follow an incident in Footscray on 28 February.
