A 33-year-old man has been charged with one count of murder in relation to an alleged incident in Gardenvale last night.
Homicide Squad detectives arrested the man after the body of a female was located at an address in Gardenvale just after 7.30pm.
Investigators allege the two parties are known to each other.
The exact circumstances of the incident and cause of death are yet to be established at this stage.
The man will appear before the Melbourne Magistrate's court this morning.
