Police charge man after intercept in Cranbourne

Public Order Response police have arrested and charged a man followed an alleged incident in Cranbourne this morning.

It is alleged the 44-year-old Heidelberg Heights man was driving his silver Ford ute about 3am in Monahans Road when police intercepted him and allegedly located substances believed to drugs and weapons in his vehicle.

He has been charged with various drug and weapon charges including two counts of possess a general category of handgun that is not registered, possess methyl amphetamine, and other theft and traffic offences.

He has been remanded to appear before the Melbourne Magustrates' Court this evening.
