Melbourne Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following the alleged assault of two people in Docklands yesterday.
It is alleged a 10-year-old boy was punched to the upper body by a man near the intersection of Spencer Street and La Trobe Street about 1pm.
A 46-year-old Cowes woman, who was with the boy at the time, intervened and was allegedly stabbed to the upper body.
Both were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police in the vicinity swiftly arrested a 27-year-old man and seized a pair of scissors.
The Sunshine West man has been charged with affray, intentionally cause injury and unlawful assault (x2), conduct endanger life and conduct endanger serious injury.
He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court later today.
