Police Charge Man After Morwell Stabbing

Police have charged a man following a serious stabbing in Morwell last night.

It is alleged a man was stabbed inside a property on McMillan Street on Thursday 22 October about 10.30pm.

The 31-year-old Morwell man was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remains in a stable condition.

A 27-year-old Morwell man was arrested at the scene and taken into custody to be interviewed.

The man was charged with:

  • intentionally cause serious injury
  • intentionally cause injury
  • recklessly cause serious injury
  • recklessly cause injury
  • assault with a weapon
  • unlawful assault
  • commit indictable offence whilst on bail

He appeared before the La Trobe Magistrates' Court today where he has been remanded in custody.

The parties were believed to be known to each other.
