Police Charge Man After Oakleigh East Assault

Monash Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an assault in Oakleigh East this week.

Officers responded to reports of a group of males assaulting each other on Dandenong Road about 9.20pm.

Upon arrival, officers located a 29-year-old Hallam man who was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Today detectives arrested and charged an 18-year-old Dandenong man.

He was charged with:

  • affray
  • intentionally cause injury
  • recklessly cause injury
  • common law assault
  • assault with weapon

He was bailed to appear before the Moorabbin Magistrates' Court on 8 December.

Detectives are continuing to make enquiries into those involved in the incident and the investigation remains ongoing.
