A man will face court after illicit drugs were seized and an officer was allegedly assaulted during an arrest in the state's Central West region yesterday.
About 6.20pm (Friday 4 July 2025), a 37-year-old man attended Orange Police Station where police attempted to arrest him.
The man allegedly resisted and assaulted a male senior constable attached to Traffic and Highway Patrol Command.
The senior constable was taken to Orange Base Hospital where he was treated for two broken ribs.
The man was subsequently arrested, and police searched him where they allegedly located and seized 13 plastic bags containing an illicit substance believed to be methylamphetamine.
He was charged with hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, possess prohibited drug, and breach of bail.
The man was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 5 July 2025).
