Police charge man after Point Cook pursuit

Police have charged a man following a pursuit in Point Cook in the early hours of this morning.

Officers first observed an allegedly stolen black Honda SUV driving erratically on Duncans Road in Werribee South about 4.20am.

Police followed the car through Point Cook.

Stop sticks were deployed and the vehicle came to a stop on Sneydes Road.

The male driver was arrested at the scene.

The 35-year-old Wyndham Vale man has been charged with a number of offences including reckless conduct endangering life, dangerous driving whilst being pursued by police, failing to stop on police direction, disqualified driving and handling stolen goods.

He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates' Court later today.
