Police Charge Man After Pokmon Cards Stolen At Maitland

A man has been charged after Pokémon trading cards were allegedly stolen from East Maitland earlier this year.

About 9pm on Monday 30 June 2025, collectible cards were allegedly stolen from a vending machine at a shopping centre on Molly Morgan Drive.

Police attached to Port Stephens-Hunter Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into the incident.

Police have been told that the cards were valued at more than $10,000.

About 12.10pm on Wednesday 20 August 2025, police arrested a 45-year-old man in the carpark of a licenced premises in Maitland.

He was taken to Maitland Police Station where he was charged with larceny (value greater than $5000 and less than or equal to $15000).

He was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 2 on Thursday 21 August 2025, where he was granted conditional bail to appear before Maitland Local Court on Wednesday 27 August 2025.
