Police Charge Man After Police Operation - Telopea

A man will face Court after being charged following a police operation in Sydney's west

About 12pm yesterday (Tuesday 2 December 2025), police received information that a man was seen acting suspiciously near a shopping centre in Telopea.

Officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command located the man on the shopping centre roof; however, he refused to comply with police directions and come down.

Police established a perimeter around the centre – locking down a nearby school – and with assistance from specialist officers, arrested the man without incident.

The man was taken to Gladesville Police Station, where following police inquiries, he was charged with enter dwelling with intent to steal and use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention.

He was refused bail and is due to appear before Burwood Local Court later today (Wednesday 3 December 2025).
