Police charge man after producing a knife on a public bus - Carlingford

Police have charged a man after he allegedly produced a knife on a bus between Carlingford and Epping yesterday.

About 6.40pm (Wednesday 4 March 2020), a 29-year-old man boarded a bus at Parramatta Railway Station and moved to the rear where he sat down.

During the commute between Carlingford and Epping the man started playing loud music and becoming verbally aggressive toward other passengers.

It's alleged he then produced a 'box cutter' style knife and started threatening other occupants on the bus. Police were called and arrived on scene at the intersection of Epping and Vimiera Road, Epping, where they boarded the bus.

The man was arrested and taken to Ryde Police Station where he was charged with stalk/intimidate intend fear and physical harm; and having custody of a knife in a public place.

He was refused bail and will appear in Burwood Local Court today (Thursday 5 March 2020).

Inquiries are continuing.
