A man will face court charged following two pursuits in Sydney's southwest.
About 1.10am on Friday 1 August 2025, officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command were patrolling the Campbelltown area when they attempted to stop a Subaru SUV on Waminda Avenue, Campbelltown.
When the vehicle failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.
The vehicle continued towards St John Road, Bradbury, and travelled along Briar Road before police terminated the pursuit after losing sight of the vehicle on Riverside Drive, Airds.
About 12.35am today (Friday 8 August 2025), police were patrolling the Campbelltown area when they sighted the vehicle stopped on Kialba Road, Campbelltown.
The vehicle travelled along Rose Street before police attempted to stop it on Blaxland Road.
When the driver of the vehicle failed to stop a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit continued south along Campbelltown Road turning onto Rudd Road, Leumeah before continuing south along O'Sullivan Road and allegedly crashing into a traffic island at the intersection of Kingsclare Street, Leumeah.
Police will allege the driver rammed a police car before continuing and crashing into a further two police cars.
The driver – a 42-year-old man – was uninjured.
As police were attempting to arrest the man, he allegedly assaulted three police officers who were uninjured.
He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station and charged with two counts drive recklessly / furiously or speed / manner dangerous, three counts assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm, four counts hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, police pursuit – not stop – drive at speed, police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention, and use class A motor vehicle displaying misleading number plate.
He was refused bail and will appear before Campbelltown Local Court Today (Friday 8 August 2025).
