A man will face court charged following a police pursuit and allegedly resisting arrest in Sydney's west yesterday.
Just after 9.15pm (Friday 4 July 2025), officers attached to North West Metropolitan Region were patrolling on Mandoo Drive, Doonside, when they attempted to stop a silver SUV seen driving without headlights on.
When it failed to stop as directed a pursuit was initiated.
The pursuit continued to Huntingwood Drive, Eastern Creek, before it crashed into an unmarked police vehicle, injuring two male senior constables.
The driver – a 25-year-old man – was arrested and police will allege the man resisted and assaulted a male senior constable before a Taser was deployed.
The two senior constables were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries and did not require further treatment.
Following a search of the man, police allegedly located and seized a number of drugs believed to be cocaine, methylamphetamine and prescription tablets.
He was taken to Blacktown Police Station where he was charged with drive conveyance taken without consent of owner, police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, never licensed person drive vehicle on road, not stop before lights at red light, use offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention, hinder or resist police office in the execution of duty, assault police officer in execution of duty without aggravated bodily harm, possess prohibited drug (two counts), possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance, goods in personal custody suspected being stolen (two counts), and breach of bail.
He was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow (Sunday 6 July 2025).
Police will allege the vehicle was stolen from an address in Woodcroft on Thursday 10 April 2025.
