About 4.20pm yesterday (Friday 29 August 2025), officers attached to Sutherland Shire Police Area Command attended an address on Tasman Street, Kurnell, to execute a search warrant before attempting to stop a white sedan.
When the driver allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated then terminated due to safety concerns.
A short time later, police located the vehicle abandoned on Taren Road, Caringbah.
Following inquiries, police arrested a 29-year-old man on Curtis Street, Caringbah, and took him to Sutherland Police Station where he was charged with
two outstanding warrants for the following offences,
- Take and conveyance without consent of owner,
- Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period (two counts),
- Breach of bail (three counts),
- Drive conveyance taken without consent of owner,
- Fail to appear in accordance with bail acknowledgement, and
- Fraudulently alter driver licence.
Police will allege in court the vehicle was involved in a fail-to-pay incident in Punchbowl on Sunday 27 July, and a break-and-enter in Caringbah on Tuesday 5 August 2025.
The man from Carlton was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 30 August 2025).
Police have returned to Tasman Street, Kurnell, about 6pm yesterday, and executed a search warrant where they seized a stolen truck, a number of fraudulent ID documents, cloned numberplates, an E-bike and cannabis. All have been taken for further examination. The white sedan was also seized.
Inquiries continue.
