Police charge man after Richmond affray

Yarra Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an affray in Richmond on Sunday, 29 May.

Officers were called to Punt Road after a passer-by reported a number of men fighting on the road about 7.30pm.

Police attended the scene and spoke to a number of men in the vicinity of the reported incident and obtained their details however a victim wasn't identified.

Subsequent investigations have led police to arrest a 32-year-old Aintree man.

He has been charged with one count of affray and bailed to face Melbourne Magistrates' Court on 26 October.

Enquiries into the incident remain ongoing and detectives anticipate other people could face charges in coming days.
