Police Charge Man After Road Rage - Epping

A man will face court today charged after allegedly performing a nazi salute and assaulting a man in Sydney's northwest yesterday.

Police were told about 6am on Tuesday 13 January 2026, a 48-year-old man was driving along Carlingford Road, Epping, when a black Ute allegedly stopped in front of him.

Police were told the driver of the Ute allegedly exited the vehicle and used the offensive gesture and assaulted the 48-year-old man before leaving the scene.

Following inquiries, about 10.30pm officers attached to Ryde Police Area Command attended an address on Cockatoo Road, Erskine Park, and arrested a 50-year-old man.

He was taken to St Mary's Police Station where he was charged with knowingly display by public act Nazi symbol without excuse and common assault.

He was refused bail and will appear before Penrith Local Court today (Wednesday 14 January 2026).
