Police Charge Man After Rocks Thrown At Rail Workers

A man was arrested on Friday evening after allegedly throwing rocks towards rail workers at Regency Park.

At about 10.45pm on Friday 10 April, Western District police were called to a rail yard on Pedder Crescent following reports of a trespasser throwing rocks at employees.

As patrols arrived, the suspect fled on foot before boarding a nearby train. Police attended the Kilburn railway station, where the man exited the train and again fled. He was tracked to a nearby home and arrested.

The 23-year-old man from Kilburn was charged with being unlawfully on premises, throwing a missile and hindering police. He was also issued with a drug diversion after allegedly being found in possession of methamphetamine.

The man did not apply for bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrates Court on Monday.

No injuries were reported.
