A man has been charged following investigations into the alleged sexual assault of a woman in the state's central west.
Detectives from Chifley Police District commenced an investigation yesterday (Saturday 13 March 2021) after reports a 20-year-old woman had alleged been sexually assaulted in Bathurst.
A crime scene was established in Piper Street as part of inquiries.
Later that day, a 23-year-old man was arrested in Patterson Street, Kelso about 6.25pm.
The man was taken to Bathurst Police Station and charged with aggravated sexual assault – inflict actual bodily harm on victim.
He was refused bail and will appear via audio visual link at Dubbo Bail Court today (Sunday 14 March 2021).
