Police charge man after shooting incident - Epping

A man has been charged following a shooting incident in Sydney's north west overnight.

About 8.15pm (Wednesday 6 October 2021), emergency service attended a unit in Kent Street, Epping following reports a man had been shot in the stomach.

The 32-year-old man was treated at the scene and taken to Royal North Shore Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Officers from Ryde Police Area Command attended and located a small calibre firearm. A crime scene was established and was forensically examined by specialist police.

A 46-year-old man, known to the injured man, was arrested at the scene and taken to Ryde Police Station.

He was charged with possess loaded firearm endanger life, reckless grievous bodily harm, possess unauthorised pistol, and possess ammunition.

He was refused bail and will appear in Hornsby Local Court today (Thursday 7 October 2021).
