A man will face court following a siege in Sydney's inner west yesterday.
About 12.20pm (Saturday 2 August 2025), emergency services were called to a unit on Barwon Park Road, St Peters, following reports of a concern for welfare.
On arrival, officers attached to Inner West Police Area Command attempted to speak to the man, before he allegedly threw items at police officers.
When the man refused to leave the unit, a parameter was established and extra resources from Public Order and Riot Squad, Tactical Operations Unit and Police Negotiators were called.
About 3pm on the same day, police arrested the 30-year-old man without incident.
He was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital for further assessment under police guard.
About 11.15am today (Sunday 3 August 2025), the man was released from hospital and taken to Newtown Police Station.
He was charged with armed with intent to commit indictable offence, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm(domestic) and use etc offensive weapon to prevent lawful detention.
He was refused bail to appear at Bail Division Court 6 tomorrow (Monday 4 August 2025).
