Police charge man after stabbing at Waterloo

A man has been charged following an investigation into a stabbing in South Sydney overnight.

About 9.30pm (Monday 17 April 2023) emergency service were called to a park on Raglan Street, Waterloo, following reports of a stabbing.

Officers attached to South Sydney Police Area Command attended along with NSW Ambulance paramedics and located a man with a laceration to his neck.

The man was taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident commenced.

Just after 11pm, a 38-year-old man was arrested by police nearby and taken to Mascot Police station where he was charged with reckless wounding.

The Waterloo man was bail refused to appear before Downing Centre Local Court today (Tuesday 18 April 2023).
