Fresh off confirmation that West Dapto Road will be re-opened to traffic prior to Christmas, work continues to progress on the project that will provide essential service to this growing community over the next several decades.
Council last week confirmed that the road will be reopen to traffic in both directions before Christmas 2026.
Today, Tuesday 13 October, Council staff met with a number of community representatives to listen to their feedback and concerns.
"We know this project has had a significant impact on people who live, work and travel through the area every day. This afternoon's discussion with community representatives was an important opportunity to listen, better understand their concerns, and have an open conversation about West Dapto Road," said Wollongong City Council Director Infrastructure and Works, Joanne Page.
"We're appreciative of the fact they took time out of their busy days to speak with us, and we reiterated our commitment to work towards the Christmas 2026 road reopening date.''
